I'm glad someone actually caught some of this on video. I think my playing was better and more musical during the parade itself, but I was in suit so backsticking and whipping out the claw seemed to be funny and appropriate. I shoulda whipped out some grannies and cheeses with flam fives though.
Anyway, I saw Bolt today. I loved it. I didn't expect it to be this good since Disney's track record on their own non-Pixar 3d animation was kinda spotty in my opinion. This was a heartfelt tale with some genuinely funny moments. And after coming back from a fur con, it was even funnier, what with the fanboi character. The reference to the Goodfeathers from Animaniacs was quite funny too.

Feelin' really down today, and it's pretty hard to describe. These feelings will come to pass pretty soon, but at the moment I just don't feel like doing anything right now. I feel like I'm starting to drift apart from some of my friends, like they're all moving on and I'm being left behind. But there's no point in dwelling on the past, as we have to look to the future. Well, I'm going to do something about it. Something amazing.

I realize I just got back from Ireland and need to make a post about that, but I'll make a proper one when I upload all my pics to my computer. In the meantime, enjoy these videos. These are both rather amazing, but that Mary Poppins one is something else.

There's some goofy event at a forum I'm a member of in which they're having one of those Miss Universe kind of things for comic characters. I decided to enter this time, so here are a few pics I made. I like how they came out for the most part. One pic had to be Swim Wear, and the other was either Winter or Formal Wear:

In other news, some friends and I played softball yesterday. There were only three of us, so one at bat, one pitching, and one fielder. Also, we only had two balls and we're not very good. It made for a tiring evening of chasing balls, but it was fun. I'm heading off to a batting cage tomorrow with one of my other friends. I'm alright at batting, so I may as well hone that skill in poor attempts to overcompensate for that fact I can't field worth crap. I guess it woulda helped if I were in little league as a kid, but I wasn't allowed to really do anything. Oh well, no time like the present.

Despite all the rain,
furball2k and I headed up to the wonderful world of Waukegan this weekend for a LAFF softball event. We are the first to arrive and just sort of hung out, throwing the ball back and forth. Thankfully, the rain stoped and more people show up and we got started. I'm alright at batting, but fielding? That's another story. We got our asses kicked too. I forget, it was like 21-12 or something. My legs hurt now, but that's a good thing. There was a BBQ afterwards in which hamburgers and chips were consumed. I can still feel the butterflies.
On the way back, we decided to head over the the Claimjumper in Wheeling because we felt that more hamburgers were needed. Neither of us had a hamburger though, strangely enough. Also we decided to check out the Westin that Midwest Furfest is going to be held since it's in the same parking lot. My god, this hotel is nice. A little too nice? It remains to be seen. Speaking of which, in the lobby, they have the greatest bathroom in the known universe, which I was raving about on the phone to
streakthetiger. I kinda wanted to take a dump but I didn't have to, so I went into the stall and just sort of sat there enjoying the greatness. It was like a small room unto itself with a full door, and there was glass with bamboo in between. Anyway, enough bathroom talk.
I guess that's really it. We parted ways and I went to sleep because I was tired.
And now, for something completely different, these are all the states in the US I've been to. More than I thought, but not enough, really.

So much going on, oh my. First of all, Anthrocon was fucking amazing. It was one of the best times I've had in my entire life and I got to meet so many new people that I hope to get to know better in the future. I spent much of the time spotting for someone new to suiting, and I got to try the suit. All I can say is damn, I hope my suit is finished by the next con. It was so much fun I couldn't believe it. Here's a video of me in it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp8ot_8o BnE
It was wicked.
And right after I get home from the con, I get poisoned by a rouge peanut, so that kinda sucked. Also, my sister was getting married so there was lots of stuff going. I was in the wedding party, and my tux was crap. The pants were long, the shirt was too big, and the vest/waistcoat was tight. But no biggie, I only had to wear it for a day. It was a beautiful ceremony, and I actually cried at the reception when my dad danced with my sister. I've never seen her so happy in my entire life. I hope to be that happy one day. And then the epic dancing after dinner. I needed a 20 foot radius for my crazy moves. My legs are still sore.
And now I must get to bed because God Damn, I have a shit-ton of work to do, as we have a deadline on wednesday. I have to stay late to layout pages and finish painting the cover tomorrow evening. I once again cannot update my comic, but a lot has been going on. Next week, I'll get that back up. As much as I love it, I don't get paid for it so it takes a back seat.
Oh my, it's raining. Oh well, I like the sound of rain when I'm sleeping.

Well, actually it's supposed to be, "Excuse me while I kiss the sky," but it's an often misheard lyric that amuses me. So the other day after work, I'm just sitting around unwinding, getting ready to update a comic. Then one of my friends calls and asks what I'm doing. I say, "nothing really, just drawing." He says, "Well, wanna get dinner? We can fly out somewhere." I say sure. He's a pilot instructor and has his own plane, which is a small Cesna of sorts, I dunno what the model is exactly. So I head over there and we get going. As we're taking off, he says, "Oh yeah, sometimes that door pops open in flight." It doesn't really bother me for some reason, as I no longer fear death. Well, I fear painful death, but yeah. I wouldn't mind dying in my sleep, really.
So we arrive in another town that isn't all that far away, and we go to this pilot restaurant. I kinda feel like I'm in an episode of TaleSpin, or Wings or something. I get a Black and Tan and we split something called the Won Ton Nachos or something to that effect. Essentially, it's fried won ton with asiago cheese and hot peppers. It was quite good, but it was a terrible mistake, as that was a meal on it's own. I also had the pot roast. Not as good as the famous Castlevania Pot Roast, but it refilled my life meter all the same. On the way out, we forget the security code that opens the gate. I knew I shoulda written it down.
Not a whole lot else to say. I spent much of my free time this week making badges for Anthrocon. I decided to try something different and do some hand-made art with some digital type and colouring. Usually I insist on doing everything by hand, but oh well. Gotta try new things. Here's a pic of it:
That background is not digital. It'd be cool if I could replicate that, but I can't.

So last week, as
furball2k and I were getting lost, I said as a joke, "Wanna go to Great America?" He said, "Yeah, I kinda do." So we ended up going a week later.
When we arrive, I make sure to remind him that we parked in the Itchy Lot so that we knew where the car was. Once we get in, we hit the Verical Velocity (where I yelled a choice phrase I won't repeat), the Demon, Batman and The Viper. Suddenly, the sky tears itself a new cornholio and it monsoons like a bastard. We get some crappy nachos and a stale pretzel after making fun of the guy in front of us because he was being one of those "difficult" customers and we head over to some shelter, watching everyone leave. After about 20 minutes of just chatting and eating crap and getting fat, we go over to the Pictorium, not caring about what they were showing. It was some video about sea creatures, and Furball was complaining that it may end up being some liberal guilt video, but it wasn't so bad. The opening shot though was of a gibbon or some other type of monkey/ape thing, at which Furball uttered a choice phrase that I won't repeat here either. The video was actually pretty cool, especially the big-ass starfish, which was a meter long.
It was still raining when we left the Pictorium, and I kinda forgot what we did after that. Luckily the storm ended soon after and all the rides opened back up, which is good for us because a ton of people already left and there were no lines. So long story short, we ended up riding the Iron Wolf 6 times, the last of which wasn't even fun anymore and we had a conversation the entire time. We also hit the Viper and the American Eagle about 6 times each, as well as the Superman which finally stopped being broken. Raging Bull and The Dark Knight was only hit once. But I remember the second time we hit the Demon, we were in the back and a kid was sitting in front of us. So in a loud voice whilst channeling Large Marge from Pee Wee's Big Adventure, I decided to tell the true story of how the Demon got stuck upside down for 2 hours 13 years ago on that very day. I made up the part about the day, but it indeed get stuck upside down for 2 hours, which I can't even imagine how awful that'd be. I actually hate that ride and I banged my head on it.
In between all that, we ended up hitting the bumper cars about 6 times. I was the only one cackling the entire time while chasing after people and smashing into them at a blistering speed of 3 mph. God, that was funny. Then we got a funnel cake sundae and 2 Hi-C's which cost $17.80 or something. Good God.
At some point, we ran into Bugs Bunny and Sylvester so we got our picture taken. Bugs gave the thumbs up after Furball told him that we're furries. Actually, I think he told them we were suiters, which is only half true. For now.
Then we went to Chilli's and negated all the walking we did with bacon cheeseburgers. I also got a drunk, which didn't help that my brain was literally banged around all day. It was also pouring at that time so I screamed like a woman on the way back to the truck. That's why I didn't draw an update, but oh well. I suck.

I remember once a while back, I overheard someone people at the Pick Me Up Cafe ask the hypothetical question, "Would you rather go to the Barleycorn, or eat a bowl full of scabs?" One of the people replied, "The scabs, duh." So naturally, some friends and I decide to to the the Barleycorn for some awful reason. I think we couldn't find a bowl full of scabs anywhere. Also I believe it was to be under the guise of whimsy and gather grist for the mill. We get there and it's full of tools that are all dressed exactly the same and they're playing crappy music. So one of my friends starts dancing like a robotic jerk and we sorta just hang out there for a while. Once we can no longer stand it, we end up going to a Hookah Bar, where they have a $45 minimum or some crap, so we decided to go somewhere else. We find another Hookah bar where we can spend what ever we want, so we end up getting a snozberry-flavoured tobacco thingie. I said, "Whoever heard of a snozberry!? We have to get it!" We were able to get a room there with seat cushions and curtains so it had a "middle eastern" feel (dunno how authentic is was, but it was neat). I also got some pitas and hummous there, even though I was still bloated from the 10 pieces of pizza I had at work earlier that day. I wasn't planning out going out, but it just sort of happened. I got home at 4:00 AM and didn't really do anything the next day. I shoulda been drawing, but I dunno. I was tired.

I went to a softball game yesterday with a bunch of furries. It was fun even though I suck and haven't played for 13 years. Good thing they stopped calling me Asian Guy after the second inning. My friend
furball2k drove and we got lost because google maps led us astray like some kind of Table Dragon. Then we went to Claim Jumper and I had a big-ass sandwich; I only ate half of it because god damnit, I couldn't even get it to fit in my mouth. But if I were some manner of snake, I could dislocate my jaw and fit the whole thing in my pie hole, to use the parlance of our times. Then I fell asleep at 9:00 pm while watching Ghostbusters. I have to draw a comic now, damnit.
Oh yeah, I've had this livejournal for a while now, but never really used it. Until now that is. Obviously.
